Gold Coast’un en prestijli okullarından The Southport School, 6 haftadır mide ve bağırsak enfeksiyonu salgınıyla mücadele ediyor.

Yatılı okuldaki salgın yüzünden 400’den fazla öğrencinin rahatsızlandığı bildirildi.

Okulun 26 Mart’tan 28 Mart’a kadar 3 gün tatil edilmesi kararlaştırıldı.

Zira Commonwealth Games boyunca okulun binlerce güvenlik görevlisine ev sahipliği yapacağı belirtiliyor.

Görevliler gelmeden okulun kapatılıp etraflıca temizlenmesi gerektiğine karar verildi.

Okul müdürü kararın Queensland Sağlık Bakanlığı’na ait olduğunu belirtirken, Bakanlık ise son kararı okulun verdiğini savundu.
